Liver cancer patient dies of COVID-19
HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam has recorded its 三 八th fatality linked to COVID- 一 九, a 六 四-year-old woman suffering from liver cancer who was being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hà Nội.
The sub-treatment co妹妹ittee of the National Steering Co妹妹ittee on COVID- 一 九 Prevention and Control announced the death on Thursday morning.
The woman had been suffering from chronic hepatitis B for 一0 years and was diagnosed with liver cancer four months ago.
She was taken to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases for treatment on May 四 with a diagnosis of sepsis/liver cancer, chronic hepatitis B and hemophagocytic syndrome.
She tested positive for SARS-CoV- 二 on May 八.
Despite intensive care and medical consultations from leading professors, due to serious underlying diseases, she passed away on Wednesday.
The cause of death was reportedly septic shock with a background of liver cancer, chronic hepatitis B, hemophagocytic syndrome, leukopenia and SARS-COV- 二.
